This painting took a LONG time to create (and dry!) simply because of the textured gel medium shapes. The iridescent orange and pink backdrop really seem to make it glow, even though I have used a lot of black again. We’ll touch on the obsession with black in another Blog I am sure!
The idea for this piece came from a sudden feeling of emptiness, coupled with an escalating mental detachment from my surroundings. Even though I live in probably one of the greatest cities in the world. It doesn’t matter where you are, the black dog will always find out and quietly creep up on you.
From something bad comes something good. I hope you like the final piece…
